The likely scenario for the meetings we have listed is as follows:
July 26: Cadwell Park with CMMC. There will be 2 invitation races (modern allcomers) which any of our “Southern” drivers can do if they want to
August 8: Snetterton 300 (with BRSCC)
August 29-30: Brands Hatch GP (British GT meeting)
Sept 26-27: Brands Hatch Indy (with BRSCC)
October 17: Lydden
All the dates are still provisional as varius factors are still to be sorted. The provisional date in November at Brands Hatch has now been taken by BTCC. British Superbikes have not yet released their new calendar so this could still cause changes.
Please note the following statements drawn mostly from a letter form the BRSCC…
Firstly every one of us here hopes that you, your families and friends are all remaining safe and well. Although racing has obviously been cancelled for the duration of the country’s lockdown period, we have continued working behind the scenes with MSUK, Government officials and the circuits to best understand and react to the complexities of this situation.
Although we’re not quite at the stage of being able to share race meeting dates or schedules, we are definitely moving closer to that point. As well as hoping that the relaxing of lockdown measures continue as scheduled, we also have to await the finalisation of F1, BTCC and BSB calendars before we can be certain of publishing a schedule that we’re confident won’t have to change again. Taking all of these factors into account, however, we still hope to be able to release a race calendar by the first week in June.
Due to what we’ve all been through recently, it is clear that race meetings will have to operate significantly different from what we’ve all been used to. To this effect, MSUK is in the final stages of producing a detailed guidance manual which will outline all of the actions and restructuring that will be required to ensure social distancing, protection of drivers, officials, race staff and medical staff. This should be sent out on Monday 18th.
As soon as we can share any further relevant details or information we will be back in touch with you immediately. In the meantime, please keep an eye on our social media channels and look out for upcoming MSUK information being publicised.
Please continue to stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
