RIP Colin Gomm

Very sad this morning to report the death of our friend Colin Gomm from cancer. He raced a few times in Intermarque Silhouettes driving his Mercedes. Colin had unfortunately been suffering from deteriorating health for a while. We offer our condolences to his family and friends.

He was better known for his exploits in National Hot Rods; here is a profile of Colin from the OVAL RACING EXPERIENCE 2016, NEC Birmingham, January 2016:

Colin Gomm – Mercedes SLK – England
Colin has been racing in the nationals for many years, racing a variety of different marques and never been afraid to try something a little out of the ordinary, and is a firm believer in the Mercedes SLK which he will be racing in the Live Action Arena. Like many he cut his teeth racing bangers and stock cars before a number of years in the 1600 and 2Ltr hot rods before moving into the nationals. Colin has been away from the ovals for a couple of years racing on the circuits however in July 2015 he made a welcome return to the Nationals at the Ipswich Spedeweekend support races and was back again for the Best in Britain at Wimbledon in November , a title which he has previously won twice. Colin is a keen fan of the live action arena and has raced in it many times and plans a full time return to the nationals for 2016.
With thanks to Rafal Biniszewski for the headshot photo of Colin in his car which you can see at full size on our website, link just above.
